How to create an event when a delay is encountered

Updated over 7 months ago

πŸ”” Events are created by:

  • the contractor in terms of a construction contract

  • the supplier in terms of a supply contract

  • the consultant in terms of a consultancy/service contract

  • the subcontractor in terms of a subcontract

ℹ️ Creating an event is not a contractual action but rather the reporting of an adverse or unexpected matter or circumstance. Stakeholders become aware of the event and can act to reduce its impact on the project.

While creating an event is not a contractual action, users can initiate claims and compensation events regarding events.

Select "Projects" from the main menu then select the Project and Contract the event you are about to create pertains to. Finally select "Events" from the Product menu.

Click "New Event"

Complete the New Event form

πŸ”” Be sure to set the "Date you became aware" as accurately as possible since it will be used to calculate the due date for any subsequent claim or compensation event notice that you may decide to send later. The receiving party of such a notice will be free to consider the notice late even if according to C-COM the notice was given before the due date since the due date was calculated by C-COM based on the input you provided for this "Date your became aware" field.

Attach supporting files by clicking "Upload" or dragging files into the green upload box. You can add descriptions to the uploaded files one at a time after uploading.

Click "Create"

To confirm click "Create" once more
