How to revoke an instruction of type "put into effect (constitutes a Variation)"

ℹ️ This article explains how to revoke an instruction of type "put into effect (constitutes a Variation)". Instructions of type "provide proposal" (i.e. a proposed Variation) cannot be revoked but can be abandoned by responding to a proposal for a proposed variation with "do not consent to proposal and abandon Variation".

πŸ”” You are only able to revoke the instruction of a Variation at the following times:

  • Immediately after sending it

  • After the contractor objects to the instruction

Locate the Variation

Navigate to "Variations" in the Projects Explorer and select the Variation you want to revoke your instruction of.

Refer to the Variation panel near the top right of the instruction the Variation relates to.

Click the arrow in the "Next step" box to launch the "Perform Variation Action" popup.

Select "Revoke instruction of Variation"

πŸ”” This option is available under the following circumstances:

  • Instruction was of type "put into effect (constitutes a Variation) and:

    • Contractor has not yet provided full details (proposal) or

    • Contractor has objected to your instruction

Enter your remarks and click "Send" to proceed to the confirmation page

Enlarge the preview and examine the notice C-COM has generated for you.

πŸ”” If you are not satisfied with the notice, close the popup then edit your remarks and preview the updated notice again.

Finally click "Send" to finish

βœ… You have successfully revoked your instruction of a Variation.
